According to The Times, Rangers are paying Jermain Defoe a weekly wage of £65,000.
It has been reported that Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club will pay the former West Ham United and Liverpool striker half of his weekly salary for the rest of the season.
Defoe’s parent club, Bournemouth, will pay the English striker half of his £130,000-a-week wage, according to The Times.
Rangers have signed the 36-year-old on loan from Premier League club Bournemouth on an 18-month loan deal in the January transfer window.
Risk?
Defoe is a proven goalscorer, and the Englishman is certainly going to enhance the current quality of the Rangers attack.

The former Tottenham star will form a formidable attacking duo with Alfredo Morelos, as the Gers challenge Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title this season.
However, paying a 36-year-old £65,000 per week is still a risk, especially as Rangers are not exactly flowing with cash.
Rangers fans will hope that Defoe can hit the ground running, and show why he is being paid such a high salary.
