Both West Ham and Everton are said to be keen on signing the Inter Milan midfielder this month.
Inter Live have claimed that both West Ham United and Everton are interested in signing Inter Milan midfielder Robert Gagliardini this month, and one £22million offer has been tabled.
The 24-year-old has been in and out of Luciano Spalletti’s side this season, struggling to hold down a regular place and has been left on the bench in the last four Serie A games.
A six-time Italy international, Gagliardini has managed just 10 Serie A appearances with the likes of Borja Valero, Radja Nainggolan, Matias Vecino and Joao Mario sometimes being preferred to the former Atalanta star.
Despite having a contract at the Giuseppe Meazza until the summer of 2023, Gagliardini could be tempted with a move away from Inter as he continues to be used as a bit-part player by Spalletti.
The report claims that a £22million bis has been made by either Everton or West Ham, with the Hammers said to be seriously interested. Injuries to Jack Wilshere and Carlos Sanchez has made signing a midfielder crucial.
Everton are also likely to be after a new central midfielder, with Idrissa Gueye linked with Paris Saint-Germain. James McCarthy and Morgan Schneiderlin’s future at Goodison Park also remains in doubt.
The Italian’s intelligence and ability to read an opponent’s next move is arguably his best trait, allowing him to intercept and make tackles at the base of midfield. He can also score from distance – with two goals this season.
At £22million, he is an expensive purchase but with the majority of his career left ahead of him, he could be worth a gamble. West Ham and Everton have just under a fortnight to complete a move.
