Pundit Danny Murphy has told BBC’s coverage of Southampton v Derby County that he feels Fikayo Tomori has ‘got the lot’ having starred on Wednesday night.

After a 2-2 draw in the first game, in which Derby came from two goals down to claim a replay, they did the same thing again at St Mary’s Stadium.

Southampton scored twice in as many minutes in the second half, as Stuart Armstrong and Nathan Redmond pounced to put the Saints 2-0 up.

However, Derby rallied back, as Harry Wilson pulled one back before Martyn Waghorn grabbed the equaliser to make it 2-2 – and it went all the way to penalties.

Redmond was the only player to miss, with Richard Keogh stepping up to score and send Derby into the Fourth Round of the competition.

Derby pulled off a second comeback against the Saints as well as a second penalty shoot-out win away at a Premier League club this season, having also knocked Manchester United out of the Carabao Cup.

A number of players impressed for Derby, but pundit Danny Murphy – who was co-commentating on the game for BBC – admitted his admiration of defender Tomori.

The Chelsea loanee, 21, impressed Murphy with his strength, speed, calmness, maturity and passing, leaving Murphy to suggest that he has ‘got the lot’.

“Tomori has been absolutely outstanding,” said Murphy. “Too strong, too quick, too calm. They’ve had some really good performances, he’s been the best of them for me. He’s been absolutely superb, he looks a real, real player. I like his maturity, I think his passing is excellent, he’s good in the air, he’s got the lot – a really really good player,” he added.
