The likes of Celtic and Tottenham Hotspur are seemingly going to be left disappointed, with a report stating that the Sunderland ace could be Germany-bound.

According to a report from The Sun on Sunday (13/1; page 59), the agent of Sunderland striker Josh Maja is apparently close to agreeing a deal with a mystery German side – in news that is bound to frustrate the likes of Celtic and Tottenham.
Maja is one of the most sought-after players on the market at the moment. His contract at the Stadium of Light expires at the end of the season, and he has scored 15 goals in all competitions for the Black Cats this term.
The Chronicle reported at the weekend that Celtic were keen on the 20-year-old, while the Express suggested that Spurs are plotting a summer a deal for the youngster.

It should probably not be a huge surprise if Maja ends up heading to Germany at the end of the season given that there are plenty of youngsters who are preferring to try their luck elsewhere in Europe.
But it will be interesting to see whether the likes of Spurs or Celtic decide to step up their interest in the Sunderland starlet in the hope that they can get a deal across the line before he ends up committing to a move to the Bundesliga.
