The Norwich City winger is said to have attracted interest from Sheffield United while on loan to Bolton Wanderers.

One of Sheffield United's rumoured January transfer targets now looks unlikely to join the Blades. United have already added Kieran Dowell and Gary Madine to their squad this month, but are also being linked with a move for the Norwich City winger, Yanic Wildschut (The Sun).

It had been claimed that Wildschut, who is due to spend the season on loan at Bolton Wanderers, could have his deal cut short amid financial problems at the University of Bolton Stadium.

And while that remains a possibility, an injury suffered during Bolton's FA Cup win against Walsall earlier this month will seemingly deter potential suitors like Sheffield United.

According to Norwich, Wildschut will undergo surgery on damaged ankle ligaments tomorrow (Tuesday) and is set to miss 'up to three months'.

Sheffield United, who have rarely used wingers during Chris Wilder's reign, only have Marvin Johnson capable of playing Wildschut's role.

To whom should Sheffield United turn as an alternative to the Norwich City winger?
