The Southampton midfielder is highly regarded at St Mary's.
Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhüttl spoke to reporters after his side's 2-1 win away at Leicester on Saturday, and raved about the performance of James Ward-Prowse, suggesting that the midfielder has reached an entirely new level, as quoted by the club's official website.
The 24-year-old has only played 10 Premier League games so far this season, but he seems to have made drastic improvements, since Hasenhüttl took over at St Mary's in early December.
Ward-Prowse's performance against the Foxes on Saturday typified his recent improvements, and he will surely be a vital player fro Southampton between now and the end of the season.
Hasenhüttl spoke to reporters over the weekend, and shared how pleased he was to see the midfielder put in such an excellent display, as quoted by the club's official website:
“He [James] is like the others in the team with fantastic aggression against the ball and a lot of running to close the gaps. It is very good to see how much he invested in this performance. I think he has made the next steps in his development. He fights for every ball and he wins it a lot which is very important in my game.”
Ward-Prowse is at an age where he can improve even further still, and he has the potential to go on and become a real star within the game.
Whether he can fulfil said potential under Hasenhüttl remains to be seen, however.
