Gjanni Alioski has told Swiss newspaper Blick that it is too early to discuss whether Leeds United will gain promotion to the Premier League, but stated that no team works harder than Marcelo Bielsa's men.
The 26-year-old has been a key figure in Leeds' 2018-19 campaign, starting every single one of the Whites' 27 Championship fixtures - despite facing plenty of criticism.
Indeed, the 21-time Macedonia international has been taken on at half-time by Bielsa three times this season, but he has reminded Whites fans just how good he can be in the last two Championship fixtures, with a goal and an assist.
Speaking to Swiss media, where Alioski remains a household name following his time with FC Lugano, the winger stated it was too soon to discuss a return to the Premier League for the first time since the Whites were relegated in 2004.
“It’s too early for that [discussing promotion], only 27 games have been completed," Alioski said. "Nobody trains harder than us. No other team gives more effort. We work five to six hours a day.”
Leeds' excellent win over Derby County on Friday night, thanks to goals from Kemar Roofe and Jack Harrison, sees them sit at the top of the table and clear by four points - with Sheffield United and Norwich in second and third on 50 points.
The Whites are next in action on Saturday afternoon as they travel to Staffordshire to take on Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium, where new manager Nathan Jones got off to a poor start with a 3-1 loss to Brentford.
