It has been Rangers' transfer window so far. The signings of Steven Davis and Jermain Defoe, as well as the pre-contract deals for Glen Kamara and Jordan Jones, have outshone Celtic's work in the window.
The Hoops have brought in exciting young talent Timothy Weah from Paris Saint-Germain, while Vakoun Issouf Bayo and Oliver Burke have also joined the club. But Davis and Defoe have certainly caused much more of a stir.
Now, Steven Gerrard is looking to continue his excellent work in the window, with reports claiming he is ready to raid Liverpool once again by bringing in teenager wonderkid Ben Woodburn on loan.
Woodburn, 19, is back at Liverpool after his loan spell with Championship side Sheffield United was cut short. He could be looking for a second loan spell this month, and Rangers are said to be keen.
The Scottish Sun have also claimed English Championship quartet West Bromwich Albion, Wigan Athletic, Blackburn Rovers and Hull City are also interested in landing the versatile attacker.
But a chance to work with Liverpool legend Gerrard may prove too good to turn down for Woodburn, as the Teddy Bears remain in the hunt to beat Celtic to the Scottish Premiership title.
With Rangers already giving themselves an enormous boost with Davis and Defoe in the title race - more so than Celtic have done this month - Brendan Rodgers simply cannot allow that boost to be strengthened further.
Luring Woodburn to Ibrox would be another super signing for the Gers, but Celtic have got to prevent Rangers from landing the Liverpool starlet by signing Woodburn themselves.
Landing Woodburn, who has played 11 times for Liverpool's senior side, would not only be an excellent signing for Celtic but it would also prevent Rangers from signing him. A boost on two fronts, for the Hoops.
