Aston Villa forward Rushian Hepburn-Murphy has caught the eye on loan at Cambridge United, after making his debut.
Cambridge United have generally praised Aston Villa forward Rushian Hepburn-Murphy for his display on debut.
Villa took the rather surprising step to loan out Hepburn-Murphy to League Tow, given how highly he is regarded.
And the Villa prospect stepped straight into Cambridge’s starting line-up for their last match.
Hepburn-Murphy was selected to start for the U’s against Notts County, and the Villa loanee helped his temporary club to an important win.
Cambridge won 1-0 at the County Ground to move away from the drop zone in the Football League’s basement division.
And Cambridge fans have largely encouraged Villa man Hepburn-Murphy’s display.
Good debut from you mate! Keep it up!— Adam Mumford (@adamjmumford8) January 12, 2019
Tough game and you worked hard. You made some good runs but wasn’t picked out at the right times. Will take a couple games to adjust to this level but have no doubt you’ll succeed. #Player— Rory (@RoryHarper1) January 12, 2019

I’m Villa but was at the game. Frankly, he looked average and no better than anyone else on the pitch. Given County are bottom of the football league that’s not great.— Mark Ashmore (@mg_ashmore) January 13, 2019
Cambridge are next in action against Northampton Town on Saturday, when Hepburn-Murphy may well get the nod to start again for Colin Calderwood’s side.
