Ipswich Town supporters have taken to Twitter to comment on the possibility of signing Brentford playmaker Alan Judge following speculation he could sign a six-month deal at Portman Road.

A report by Sky Sports claims Ipswich are in talks with Brentford’s Judge who is available for a cut-price fee, with the Republic of Ireland’s contract at Griffin Park set to expire in the summer.

The Tractor Boys must strengthen this month if they have any chance of Championship survival, and adding creativity to their ranks is high on manager Paul Lambert’s wish-list with the Suffolk club one of the lowest scorers in the league.

Judge could be the spark needed to lift the gloom around Portman Road (although Ipswich did gain 3 points with a home win against Rotherham Saturday), and several took to Twitter to express their support for any deal:

Judge has managed just four starts for Brentford this season, although he has come off the bench on a number of occasions.

The 30-year-old was once regarded one of the best players in the Championship, scoring 14 goals and grabbing 11 assists in the 2015/16 campaign before suffering a broken leg - ironically at Portman Road.

Judge has barely played over the past two seasons, and Ipswich will be taking a gamble on him in the hope that he can rediscover his top form and help the Tractor Boys in their fight for survival.
