Tottenham Hotspur have lost against Manchester United this evening.
Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have criticised Hugo Lloris for his performance against Manchester United on Sunday evening.
Tottenham have suffered 1-0 defeat at the hands of United at Wembley Stadium in the Premier League this evening.
Marcus Rashford scored the only goal of match on the stroke of half time, taking advantage of a defensive error from Kieran Trippier.
Lloris could have done better in goal as well, and although he got a touch on Rashford’s effort, some Tottenham fans were not happy with the France international goalkeeper.
Can’t fault the effort today....Trippier and Lloris cost us the game...De Gea saved the game for united. #coys— Paul (@__PaulG) January 13, 2019
Got to say Lloris has to save that. Should never have been in that position and have to blame Trippier for that - De Gea makes 10 decent saves and keeps them in it - yes the finishing was poor but he’s made the saves he has to. The difference #COYS #TOTMNU— Mark Baker (@markbaker0) January 13, 2019
De Gea is still world class. Lloris has looked better as the game went on but he’s definitely lost a step. Oh well #COYS— BGO (@brendangonzo) January 13, 2019
Makes you wonder if Lloris used his boots more often, he’d make more saves— Callum (@CallumCOYS) January 13, 2019
Dear Gea is everything Lloris isn't— reeceTHFC (@reece_thfc) January 13, 2019
Conceding from a mistake by Tripps. He should do better, Lloris should have done better too. ffs. #coys— Kuldeep (@urbanbindi) January 13, 2019
Genuinely cannot believe some fans still argue that Lloris is better than De Gea.— George (@NoyCoysGeorge) January 13, 2019
He would have definitely saved their goal, but then so would Gazzaniga— Keith H. (@THFCSparky) January 13, 2019
Lloris does make mistake from time to time, and the Frenchman should have done better for the goal.
The 32-year-old goalkeeper did make some wonderful saves as the match progressed, but the France international’s one ‘error’ was enough for Tottenham to lose the Premier League game.
The former Lyon star, though, remains a very good goalkeeper and the first choice between the posts for Mauricio Pochettino’s team.
The defeat to United means that Tottenham are now third in the Premier League table with 48 points from 22 matches, nine points behind leaders Liverpool.
