Celtic legend Sir Kenny Dalglish has praised new Rangers signing Steven Davis in The Sunday Post.

Rangers have signed Davis on loan from Premier League club Southampton in the January transfer window.

The 34-year-old Northern Ireland international midfielder will stay at Rangers until the end of the season.

This will be Davis’s second spell at Rangers, with the midfielder having been on the books of Ibrox from 2008 until 2012.

Celtic legend Dalglish believes that Davis is a good signing for Rangers, who are challenging for the Scottish Premiership title this season.

Dalglish wrote about Davis in The Sunday Post: “Davis knows his way around Rangers, having won titles there in the past. He can be very influential at Ibrox in the next five months. He will not be fazed.”

Good signing for Rangers

Davis is past his prime, but the Northern Ireland international can do a good job for Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.

The Gers do need experienced footballers in their squad in the second half of the season in order to push Celtic until the very end for the title.

Davis knows Rangers inside out, has been a success at Ibrox, and has returned to the Gers with a wealth of experience.
