Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton are among the clubs reportedly interested in Sunderland forward.

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Sunderland forward Josh Maja in the summer of 2019, according to The Express.

Maja is out of contract at Sunderland at the end of the season, and Tottenham reportedly want to secure the services of the forward on a free transfer (although they will have to pay a compensation fee).

The Express has claimed that the 20-year-old has turned down the chance to sign a contract extension by the Black Cats which will have seen his current wages increase by seven times.

Promising talent

Maja is one of the best young players in League One and has been playing well for Sunderland this season.

The 20-year-old has scored has made 22 starts and two substitute appearances in League One for Jack Ross’s side so far this campaign, scoring 14 goals in the process, according to WhoScored.

Harry Kane is the undisputed number one striker at Tottenham, but Maja will be a very good addition to the Spurs squad and will be a brilliant long-term signing for the North London outfit.

Tottenham, though, are not the only club who are reported to be interested in signing Maja.

According to The Daily Mail, Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Manchester City and Huddersfield Town want to secure the services of the 20-year-old forward this month, while The Northern Echo has credited Everton, Southampton, Middlesbrough and Millwall with interest in the youngster.
