Sky pundit Matt Le Tissier believes Wolves will be disappointed with Aston Villa striker Tammy Abraham after he reportedly turned down a move to Molineux.
Sky Sports claimed that Chelsea loanee Abraham opted to stay at Villa and try to help them earn promotion from the Championship rather than join Wolves in the Premier League on a temporary basis.
Former Southampton striker Le Tissier claimed that Wolves would have been slightly let down by Abraham because he would have fitted into Nuno Espirito's side.
“I think they [Wolves] need somebody else up there,” Le Tissier told Soccer Saturday on 12/01/2019 at 12:30 pm. “He [Abraham] is in such a rich vein of form.
“This [Abraham news] has got to be a bit disappointing for Wolves because the confidence this boy is playing with at the minute, I think he would have been a really good addition.”
Over the course of the season, Abraham has netted an impressive 16 goals in the second tier of English football for a Villa team that is vying for promotion to the promised land.
In his previous encounter, he failed to find the back of the net in the defeat against Wigan as Dean Smith's promotion push took another hit, with Villa five points outside of the play-off places.
For Wolves, they have Benfica loanee, Raul Jiminez playing up front and the Mexican will be looking to continue his recent good form when Nuno's side visit the Etihad Stadium on Monday evening.
The former La Liga attacker has played 22 games in all competitions this season, scoring seven goals and supplying five assists to his teammates.
