Leeds United and Aston Villa supporters on Twitter have joined in to congratulate James Milner after he received a 'special boot' for making 500 Premier League appearances.
The 33-year-old reached that milestone in early December when Liverpool thumped Bournemouth 4-0 in the Premier League, but he received special recognition for that appearance on Wednesday.
Milner confirmed on his personal Twitter account that Nike had made a 'special boot' with all the logos of his former clubs as he stated that he has been 'very proud' to have represented these clubs.
Huge thanks to Nike for this special boot... very proud to have played 500 @premierleague games for some great clubs wearing Nike... & I’m not finished yet #alwaysinnike#justdoit pic.twitter.com/GPvrtw3AWl— James Milner (@JamesMilner) January 9, 2019
The former England international started his career at his boyhood club Leeds before playing for the likes of Newcastle United, Villa, Manchester City and now Liverpool.
Throughout his career, Milner has showcased his versatility on the pitch, from playing in a number of positions to being able to show the defensive side of his game and the attacking side of his game.
As you would expect, both Leeds and Villa supporters on social media were pleased for their former player, who has now racked up 503 Premier League appearances.
Many Whites fans on Twitter urged the Reds midfielder to 'come back home' with Marcelo Bielsa's side currently sitting top of the Championship table.
