Ibrox Stadium of Rangers
Rangers have signed Defoe on an 18-month loan deal from Premier League club Bournemouth in the January transfer window.
Moyes worked with the former West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur striker at Sunderland, and the ex-Everton and Manchester United manager believes that the 36-year-old striker will be a success at Steven Gerrard’s Rangers.
Moyes told The Sunday Post about Defoe: “I think it’s a great move by Rangers. I’ve no doubt that Jermain will score goals, and he has the ability to score important goals.”
“Jermain also moves quickly inside the area, and he is a dream for wide players when it comes to cutbacks,” added Moyes.
“Listen, he’s not the type to get on the end of crosses to score with his head, but he will convert chances on the ground.”
Excitement for Rangers fans
Rangers play attacking football and have two of the best wingers in the Scottish Premiership in Ryan Kent and Daniel Candeias.
Defoe is a very good striker who scores goals and links up well with players around him, and the Englishman is certainly going to be a key player for the Gers this season and the next.
The 36-year-old is a clinical striker, and if the Rangers attacking players are able to create chances for him, then the Ibrox faithful can expect a lot of goals from the Englishman.
