After his stunning performance in the latest Old Firm game, it should be no surprise that Rangers are keen to sign Ryan Kent on a permanent basis once his loan spell ends in the summer.
Kent has been a revelation for much of his spell at Ibrox, and Mark Allen recently suggested - in comments reported by The Scottish Sun - that the Gers would love to discuss another deal with his parent club.
With the amount of quality Liverpool boast in attacking areas, it seems like there could be a good opportunity for Steven Gerrard to keep the 22-year-old. But given how well he has performed with the Gers, he has perhaps given himself a chance of finding himself on the periphery of Jurgen Klopp's radar upon his return.
However, perhaps the latest reports regarding Liverpool's transfer plans hint that Rangers could receive a major boost in their quest to sign Kent - thanks to a Celtic player.
If Forrest ends up heading to Anfield, Kent will likely find himself further down the pecking order. And given that he already seems to face an uphill battle trying to force his way into the picture on Merseyside, the Celtic's man arrival would surely leave the path clear for Rangers to complete a deal for one of their key summer targets.
