Fenerbahce are in the midst of a disastrous season, sitting second from bottom in the Turkish Super Lig table. And things could be about to get even worse.

According to Fotomac, Fulham are keen to offer their Chilean international Mauricio Isla an escape route out of the Istanbul crisis-club in the January transfer window.

Claudio Ranieri’s side have been linked with a number of right-backs with Timothy Fosu-Mensah set to see his loan deal brought to an end ahead of an expected return to Manchester United and Isla is the latest name to be thrown into the mix.

Fotomac claims that Fulham have offered around £2.5 million but so far Fener are standing firm. They are understood to be demanding closer to £4.5 million.

30-year-old Isla is a hugely experienced player who has earned 102 caps for his country while helping Chile win the Copa America for the first time in their history in 2015.

He has represented Juventus, Marseille and, interestingly, Fulham’s local rivals Queens Park Rangers in a storied career, though a loan spell at Loftus Road in 2014/15 ended in relegation from the Premier League.
