Peterborough United owner Darragh MacAnthony has suggested on Twitter that Jason Cummings could return to Nottingham Forest in the January transfer window.

Cummings joined League One outfit Peterborough on a season-long loan deal from Championship side Forest in the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old striker has scored six goals and provided five assists in 22 League One appearances for Posh so far this season, according to Transfermarkt.com.

The youngster has been struggling to play well for Peterborough in recent times, and club owner MacAnthony has suggested on Twitter that he could let the former Hibernian striker return to his parent club Forest in the January transfer window.

Back to Hibernian?

Hibernian manager Neil Lennon recently suggested to The Scottish Sun that he is interested in singing Cummings.

The 23-year-old was a success during his time at Hibernian in Scotland, and it does make sense for the striker to return to his former club this month.

Hibernian are not having a good time in the Scottish Premiership at the moment, and they could do with a player of like Cummings for the second half of the season.
