Ian Taylor reacts to Aston Villa defeat to Wigan Athletic

Ian Taylor has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Aston Villa’s defeat to Wigan Athletic on Saturday afternoon.

Villa have suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of Wigan away from home at the DW Stadium in the Championship.

Gary Roberts, Michael Jacobs and Joe Garner scored the goals for the Latics.

Villa legend Taylor was following the match, and he has stated on Twitter that the performance of Dean Smith’s side was poor.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at the DW Stadium on Saturday afternoon, hosts Wigan had 49% of the possession, took 13 shots of which six were on target, and earned eight corners, according to BBC Sport.

Visitors Villa had 51% of the possession, took four shots of which none was on target, and earned six corners, according to BBC Sport.

The defeat to Wigan means that Villa are 12th in the Championship table at the moment with 38 points from 27 matches, five points behind sixth-placed Derby County.
