The West Ham United starlet has been excellent this season.
West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini spoke to reporters after his side's fantastic win over Arsenal at the London Stadium today, and raved about the performance of Declan Rice, labelling the youngster as a 'top player', as quoted by Football.London.
The Hammers were superb against the Gunners today, and Rice's display epitomised everything that Pellegrini expects from his side - desire, composure and quality in possession.
The 19-year-old recently signed a new contract with West Ham - one that runs until the summer of 2024, and Hammers fans will be praying that he remains in east London at least up until then.
And Pellegrini was effusive in his praise for Rice, when speaking to reporters after today's win over Unai Emery's men, praising the teenager's strength and technique, as quoted by Football.London:
"I am sure that Declan will be a top player. He improves in every game that he plays. He is very strong in 1v1, a good technique and demonstrated with his goal. We are seeing a top top player."
West Ham have a fantastic chance of finishing inside the top seven this season, and if they are to have any chance whatsoever of doing just that, Rice will have to be at his very best between now and May.
Next up for the Hammers is a trip to Bournemouth on Saturday, and Pellegrini's men will be very confident of racking up another vital three points.
