There's no shortage of players for Aston Villa fans to slaughter this evening.
That is because Dean Smith's side lost 3-0 at Wigan Athletic in what was a rather toothless showing from the Villans.
Aston Villa trailed 1-0 at the break due to a goal from Gary Roberts, before Michael Jacobs and Joe Garner made it something of a rout in the last 10 minutes.
Smith's troops only mustered some four shots on the Latics' goal to indicate that their attacking quantities never really showed up - and this is particularly true of Anwar El Ghazi.
The out-of-form Dutch winger was anonymous for 63 minutes, before being replaced with Albert Adomah.
Former Villa boss Steve Bruce signed the 23-year-old on a season-long loan from Lille last summer but overall El Ghazi hasn't delivered, despite some promising displays here and there.
Here is how Aston Villa fans reacted to his latest performance:
El Ghazi has the touch of an elephant— Jamie Gray (@JMGray80) January 12, 2019
I'd get Bolasie and El Ghazi off. Both have forgotten what football is today #AVFC— Comrade (@Stokesey84) January 12, 2019
Bree, Taylor, Whelan, BB , Elphick not good enough. El Ghazi and Bolasie are have been a waste of space the past 2 months! Bye bye to promotion this season. Embarrassing! If I was Abraham I would of F’d off! #avfc— Aston Villa Updates (@AstonVilla_info) January 12, 2019
El Ghazi and Bolasie are highlight reel players, shambolic— Sam (@Sam1874_) January 12, 2019
Bolasie and El Ghazi have been awful. No where near the level of snodgrass last season— Hayden (@HaydAVFC) January 12, 2019
Absolutely terrible! El Ghazi is not good enough! We look terrible without Jack. God knows what will happen next season once he’s sold!— Aaron Edwards (@Big_Az) January 12, 2019
El ghazi either on fire or completely useless no in-between— Rob Gaston (@RobJGaston) January 12, 2019
El Ghazi and Bolaise have such great ball control and tricks a plenty to get round a player the problem is the pair can't kick a fucking ball 10 yards to a player in a #avfc shirt which is useless for a winger!!! Extremely poor half (again) this team needs ALOT of repairing! #utv— KINGEIGHTYONE (@KingEightyOne) January 12, 2019
According to BBC Sport, Aston Villa failed to muster a single shot on target, which in itself tells its own story.
Even with 16-goal Tammy Abraham leading the line, Smith's side weren't threatening at all in the final third and much of the blame must go to El Ghazi and Yannick Bolasie on both flanks.
