Forest have announced that Karanka has left his role at the club, after asking to be released from his contract.
Karanka’s move follows weeks of speculation that he was facing the sack at Forest.
However, most Forest fans are gutted about the Spaniard’s departure, as he still had the backing of large sections of the City Ground crowd.
Forest may not have been in the play offs, but they were still fighting for promotion, and there was a feeling that the Reds were making big improvements.
Collymore was one of Karanka’s backers throughout his time at Forest, but the former Reds forward insists that happier times are ahead for the Midlands club.

Brighter days will come!
Forest will now be on the look out for yet another new manager, as they look to force their way into the top six.
Both Slavisa Jokanovic and Gary Rowett have been touted as potential replacements for Karanka, but it is not yet clear which direction the club will go.
