Southampton defender Cedric Soares is reportedly on the radar of Everton.

Everton are interested in signing Cedric Soares from Southampton in the January transfer window, according to The Sun (print edition, page 53, Friday, January 11, 2019).

It has been reported that the Toffees are ready to launch a £15 million bid for the 27-year-old right-back.

Southampton will sell the Portugal international defender this month, according to the report.

Good signing for Everton?

Soares is a very good right-back who has been a success in the Premier League, and the 27-year-old will be a very good signing for Everton in the January transfer window.

The Portugal international – who earns £65,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – has an attacking mindset, and that will fit in well with Everton manager Marco Silva’s playing style.

With Southampton struggling for survival in the Premier League at the moment, Soares could be persuaded to switch to Everton this month and be part of an ambitious team.

Soares has made 16 appearances in the Premier League so far this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
