Everton fans are desperate for some new signings this month.
Everton boss Marco Silva spoke to reporters today, ahead of his side's clash with Bournemouth on Sunday, and insisted that he will have to sell first, if he is to bring any new faces into Goodison Park this month, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
The Portuguese took over as Toffees boss in the summer, but it has to be said that his first six months in charge have been fairly underwhelming, with his side currently occupying 11th spot in the Premier League table.
It is clear to see that, in spite of Silva's summer business, Everton are still a long way off challenging for a top six place, but the Portuguese urged caution when speaking to reporters today, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo:
"We’ll see what we’ll do. We did very good things in the summer. It is always in the mind. To do something, it will need to improve in our squad. It is not easy in January or always spending big-money. To do something, a player will need to leave the club."
Everton do have plenty of players who aren't featuring regularly who they could sell including the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin and James McCarthy, and if Silva can shift some of the deadwood this month, he will undoubtedly look to bolster his ranks at Goodison Park.
Quite who Silva could be targeting, however, remains to be seen.
