File this Tottenham transfer rumour under unlikely.

Tottenham Hotspur forward Fernando Llorente has been offered to Barcelona as a budget strike option, report Spanish outlet Don Balon.

Don Balon is known for it’s often wild transfer rumours and this appears to be one of them.

Barcelona are said to be after a cheap striker to sign as back-up for Luis Suarez.

Three players said to be offered to them are Fernando Llorente, Atletico’s Kevin Gameiro, and Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata.

Llorente would likely be cheapest of the trio, but also the most attainable.

Atletico would be unlikely to sell to a rival, while former Real forward Morata would not want to play for the Blaugruna.

If an offer did come for Llorente, Tottenham should accept it, as the Spaniard is in the final few months of his contract and can leave in the summer.

File this one under ‘very unlikely’, but you never know. Barcelona did sign Paulinho after all…
