The Rangers winger was injured on his senior debut for Steven Gerrard’s side at Ibrox last November.

Footage of the Rangers winger, Serge Atakayi, looking fit and well has emerged on Dapo Mebude’s Instagram story.

Atakayi was injured just 17 minutes into his Rangers debut against Motherwell last November and later underwent surgery in London after being spotted wearing a leg brace.

A potential return date has yet to be disclosed and, unlike Mebude, Atakayi was not part of the young Rangers squad that travelled to Germany for this month’s Mercedes-Benz Fußball Junior Cup.

But the 19-year-old appears to be moving freely in the background of Mebude’s most recent social media post, uploaded on Wednesday afternoon.

Atakayi has had to bide his time following his 2016 move to Ibrox, but took advantage of a suspension to Daniel Candeias and injuries to Ryan Kent and Jamie Murphy to make the bench against Motherwell.

The DR Congo-born Finland youth international signed a one-year contract extension in June 2018, which keeps him at Rangers for another 18 months.
