Newcastle United continue to be linked with Miguel Almiron.

Agent Daniel Campos has told ABC in Paraguay that Newcastle United need to raise their offer to Atlanta United if they want to sign playmaker Miguel Almiron.
The Magpies are in the market for reinforcements during this month’s transfer window, and a top playmaker is believed to be keen on luring Almiron to St James’ Park.
Ayoze Perez still isn’t really impressing as a number 10 under Benitez, and rumours of a move for Almiron have now been swirling for weeks and even months at this point.
Almiron, 24, emerged in South America with Cerro Porteno and Lanus, but starred in Major League Soccer last season with 13 goals and 13 assists, helping Atlanta United win the MLS Cup.
A Paraguayan international, Almiron is now in huge demand off the back of his MLS displays, with Atlanta United already knowing that they are unlikely to be able to keep him in Georgia.
On Tuesday, The Chronicle reported that Almiron had demanded ‘astronomical’ wages of around £100,000-a-week, putting a move to Newcastle in doubt despite the Magpies being ready to break their £16million transfer record on him.

Now, agent Campos has confirmed that Newcastle are pushing for Almiron and they have discussed wages, but need to raise their offer to Atlanta to get him – and with teams from England, Germany, Italy and Spain all keen, they may need to move quickly with no deal in place yet.
“If Newcastle raises their bid, they could be one of the clubs, but there are other clubs,” said Campos. “There are clubs from England, Germany, Italy and Spain that are interested in Miguel Almiron, but we aren’t going to rush things.”
“There are two or three clubs in England that have interest, but we have not advanced much. With Newcastle, I spoke about the player’s salary, but the club needs to raise their offer with Atlanta if they want to get the player,” he added
