Lamela was a late sub in Tottenham Hotspur's semi-final first leg win.
The Argentine replaced Heung-min Son in the 79th minute of Tottenham's 1-0 win in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final tie with Chelsea.
And he took less than three minutes to make an impact, picking up a yellow card for a foul on Eden Hazard, before conceding yet another free-kick to Marco Alonso shortly afterwards.
It is fair to say the 26-year-old won't be a welcome guest when the two teams meet again at Stamford Bridge in little more than a fortnight's time.
This is what those of a Chelsea persuasion are saying on Twitter...

Tottenham's winner arrived in the 26th minute courtesy of Harry Kane, who some have argued was offside and not fouled for the penalty from which he scored.
Spurs last reached the League Cup final in 2015, where they were beaten at Wembley by Chelsea of all teams.
