Bradford City have signed Leeds United defender on loan
Bradford City have completed a deal to sign Paudie O’Connor on loan from Leeds United.
O’Connor had been on loan at Blackpool until yesterday, when Leeds cancelled the deal and sent him on loan to Bradford.
The young Irishman had been in and out of the Blackpool side, and Leeds obviously felt he would develop more at Bradford between now and the rest of the season.
O’Connor featured for Leeds’ first team at the end of last season and many fans were annoyed when he was loaned out in the summer and no defenders were signed.
The Whites have coped fine without him and there was minimal backlash among the Leeds support to the decision to send him back out on loan.

The days of Bradford competing for League One play-off places suddenly seem long gone, and the Bantams are trying to avoid relegation.
O’Connor has swapped the 11th placed team in the division for the 21st ranked side.

Fans were pleased to see a new face added, even if he comes from rivals Leeds.
Bradford’s league position means they cannot be choosy, and supporters hope that O’Connor will be a big success at the club.
Here is a look at the reaction to the signing…
Wish the new O’Connor the best. With the original O’Connor,Mcgowan, Mellor, NKP in the squad it was not a position that I thought we would strengthen first. In Hopkin we trust!!!! #bcafc

#BCAFC couldn’t give a toss where @Paudie97 came from as long as he gives it his all. I mean, our 2 best players so far this season are from town !! @Lewis_OBrien98 @Jackopayne1

Bloody Paudie, what sort of a name is that? #bcafc

No doubt the latest O’Connor will do a decent job, but it’s hard to get overly excited about short term loan deals ! #bcafc

Who remembers when we signed that young Irish lad Carl McHugh who left a city hero? Don’t judge a signing before they wear the shirt #bcafc

To clarify, it’s a good signing, just getting fans revved up about a loan signing from a rival is a bit…well, tinpot. #bcafc

Abit heartbroken that we’ve built up a squad of Huddersfield & Leeds players that now are ultimately playing for our fate.

Nevertheless, should be a great signing, and hopefully does the job. Come on City #bcafc
Can’t help but think oconnor is a waste of a loan spot. Not exactly an area we need to strengthen as not conceding and only allowed 5 in the squad. Unless payne is going….. #bcafc
