The delay for Dead or Alive 6 will allow Team Ninja to avoid Metro: Exodus, Anthem, and Jump Force.

As reported by PC Gamer, the forthcoming Dead Or Alive 6 has been slightly delayed. Instead of meeting the planned February 15 launch, the game will now release on March 1. According to a statement by the game’s director Yohei Shimbori, Team Ninja have delayed the sixth instalment to refine the gameplay and balance:

“The title’s development is already near complete, however, we would like to take more time to further polish its balance, gameplay, and expressivity. In return for your patience, we commit to bringing you the best Dead or Alive gaming experience. I am truly sorry for the inconvenience caused by the release delay”.

Dead or Alive is a controversial fighting game series. Despite boasting powerful warriors beating each other to a bloody pulp, it also possesses women with ample bosoms in playboy bunny outfits. However, in an effort to make the series more about fighting and less about sunbathing babes, Shimbori has said the women will be less sexualised and more ‘natural’. But, if you’re a guilty admirer of costumes too skimpy for most porn videos, then you’ll be happy to know that the DLC might still contain risqué garments.

If you’re looking forward to Dead or Alive 6, you shouldn’t be upset about the game’s delay. Although we would all love to play it as soon as possible, its slight postponement is ultimately good news. BioWare’s Anthem is going to be next month’s biggest and most talked about title, and February 15 is crammed with Metro: Exodus, Crackdown 3, and fighting game competitor, Jump Force. Regardless of why Team Ninja delayed its release, a March launch will allow Dead or Alive to avoid a much busier day.

Dead or Alive 6 has been delayed to March 1. It will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and it promises this time to be more about fighting and less about erotic anime girls playing volleyball.
