It was reported last week that Tottenham were one of a number of sides interested in Kessie.

Italian outlet Il Messaggero have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have approached AC Milan over a possible move to sign midfielder Franck Kessie this month.
It was reported last week by another Italian source in TuttoMercatoWeb that 22-year-old Kessie would be looking to leave Milan in the summer if the club did not finish in the Champions League places.
Currently in fifth, Milan are struggling to push for the top four places. Kessie’s desire to leave for Champions League football has alerted Tottenham, as well as Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.
It is believed a fee of £36million is enough to land the former Atalanta midfielder, who remains on a two-year loan with Milan in a strange deal that automatically becomes permanent in the summer.
The original reports suggest, then, that Spurs would have to wait until the summer to sign Kessie – as the midfielder looked to help his current side qualify for the Champions League, and leave if they failed.

But the latest report claims Spurs have gone ahead and tried to win the race for Kessie by approaching AC Milan over a move to land the powerhouse midfielder, who has scored three goals from deep this season.
In what is a somewhat surprise move, Spurs are yet to learn whether Milan will be willing to let Kessie go – and whether his current two-year loan with an obligatory permanent move in the summer would affect a move to Spurs this month.
