Just 11 days after arriving from Vitoria Guimaraes, Silva produced a remarkable debut performance for the Hammers’ U23 side. A four-minute hat-trick against bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur was one way to make an impact.
Since then, Silva has scored a further four goals for the U23s, meaning he has seven in just six Premier League 2 games. And the 21-year-old was rewarded with his first start for the club on Saturday, featuring in the 2-0 FA Cup win against Birmingham City.
Clearly, West Ham have high hopes for Silva. So much so that they have rejected any offers to take him on loan, according to Football London.
It is understood that a whole host of clubs have launched enquiries about Silva but he appears to be a key part of Manuel Pellegrini’s first-team plans alongside fellow youngsters like Conor Coventry and Grady Diangana.
Although maybe Silva would benefit from leaving on a short-term basis like Marcus Browne, the talented midfielder who thrived during a spell at Oxford United.
