Everton’s seldom-seen Premier League winger Ademola Lookman played under Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl at RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga.

Marco Silva might seemingly be unconvinced about the talents of Everton winger Ademola Lookman but the same cannot be said about Ralph Hasenhuttl.
The affable Austrian was in charge of RB Leipzig when Lookman spent time on loan at the Bundesliga club in the second half of last season, turning heads with some outstanding individual displays while scoring five goals in just seven league starts.
So it is perhaps no surprise to learn that Hasenhuttl would look to reunite with the 21-year-old forward at Southampton.
According to the Daily Star (8 January, page 47), the 51-year-old wants to make Lookman one of his first signings since taking over from Mark Hughes at St Mary’s.
The former Charlton winger admitted that he was happy at Everton after scoring in the 2-1 FA Cup win against Lincoln City on Saturday (Echo) but he has started just one Premier League game all season and the chance to work with Hasenhuttl again should appeal.

A direct and confident wide man with an eye for goal, Lookman would provide some much needed pace and creativity for a Southampton side who have struggled in front of goal since the start of last season.
Sky Sports reported in August that Everton were demanding £28 million for Lookman, meaning the Saints might have to shatter their transfer record if they want to sign him permanently.
