Former Tottenham Hotspur youngster Shaquille Coulthirst hopes to play Arsenal in the next round.

At one stage Shaquille Coulthirst seemed primed to enjoy the limelight currently being enjoyed by Harry Kane at Tottenham Hotspur.

When Kane was out on one of his various loan spells, Coulthirst got Spurs fans excited with a hat-trick against Barcelona in the NextGen Series, a precursor to the UEFA Youth League.

Coulthirst didn’t make the breakthrough at Tottenham, and has slipped down the divisions. He is now a regular for Barnet, and helped them enjoy FA Cup success at the weekend.

Coulthirst scored the winner from the penalty spot as the non-league side beat Championship promotion challengers Sheffield United.

Why you'd be foolish to write Celtic off next season

The former Spurs prospect, who is now 24, says he hopes to draw Arsenal in the next round so he can try and knock them out.

He told BBC Sport: “I’m delighted for all the lads and the manager. Who knows how far we can get?

“I want Arsenal away – I used to play for Spurs so it would be nice to beat them there.”

The FA Cup draw will be made on Monday evening after Wolves vs Liverpool.

Coulthirst has been at Barnet since 2017, scoring 10 goals despite their relegation from League Two last season.

He has six goals to his name so far this season.
