Newcastle United will have to get through a replay if they hope to book their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Several Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to slam Joselu’s performance after the striker desperately struggled during the Magpies’ draw with Blackburn on Saturday.

Rafa Benitez’s men will have to see off the Championship side in a replay if they hope to book their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup after they battled back from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw at St James’ Park.

Bradley Dack opened the scoring for the visitors, but Matt Ritchie equalised from the penalty spot late on to ensure that Newcastle remain in the competition.

It was a hugely disappointing day for Benitez’s side. Several players came in for a lot of criticism, and Joselu’s performance was one of those that seemed to face the greatest backlash.

The Spaniard – who earns £40,000-a-week on Tyneside, according to Spotrac – looks to have no confidence at the moment, and that came across in his performance. He has not scored in any competition since August.

And unfortunately for the 28-year-old, plenty of supporters on social media suggested that he may have to be considered alongside Xisco as one of the poorest attackers the club have had in recent years.

Here is how the frustrated Newcastle fans reacted to the forward’s display…
