Is The Resident Evil 2 Remake Easy To Platinum? (No Spoilers)

Resident Evil 2 Remake Zombie

The trophy list for Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 remake has been revealed, and fans will be happy to know that it doesn’t appear too difficult to platinum.

Despite only being January, gamers will soon be able to own two of the year’s most highly anticipated titles, Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 remake and Kingdom Hearts 3. If you’ve never ventured to Racoon City due to being a wuss intimidated by PS1 graphics and a spaced out ginger, then you must play the remake to see why it’s one of the industry’s best ever horror games. And if you have braved the land of the dead before, then you’ simply need to man up and face zombies once again as sexy protagonists Leon, Claire and Ada Wong.

In the build-up to its highly-anticipated release, Gamerant has reported that the remake’s PlayStation 4 trophy list has been revealed. If you wish to potentially spoil the game for yourself, you can look at the full, unabridged list here. But, if you’re a newcomer who rightfully wants to go into the game knowing as little as possible, then the most you’ll want to know is that there are 42 trophies overall and the platinum doesn't appear too difficult to attain.

Without going into plot points, a lot of the trophies are basic achievements such as opening a portable safe, defeating an enemy with a knife, increasing your inventory slots, and customising a weapon. However, for the insane nuts who relish a challenge, there are more difficult ones like completing the game without using a recovery item and never opening the item box, as well as surviving Hardcore Mode as both Leon and Claire.

Overall, the game doesn’t seem too difficult to 100%. Sure, the average gamer will most likely have to replay the narratives to complete all of the objectives, but it’s definitely not a hard platinum compared to other Capcom games like Devil May Cry 4.

The Resident Evil 2 remake will be released on January 25, 2019. If you understandably can’t wait to shoot zombies in the face while tip-toeing through creepy locales, then you’ll be happy to know that a demo will be released allowing you to explore the Racoon police department as baby-faced rookie, Leon.
