Glasgow Rangers reportedly want to bring Curtis Tilt to Ibrox, and the defender has admitted that he would love to play under Steven Gerrard.

Curtis Tilt has told the Daily Mail (05/01; page 111) that he would love to play under Steven Gerrard as Rangers reportedly eye a potential bid for the centre-back during this window.

Tilt has featured regularly for Blackpool this term, making 18 appearances in League One and scoring three goals. Transfermarkt shows that he is out of contract with the club at the end of the season.

The Daily Mail (05/01; page 111) reports that Rangers are planning to make a move for the 27-year-old this month. And based on comments made in the same report, Tilt would seemingly love to get the chance to make the switch to Ibrox.

“I’ve heard about Rangers and the thought of Steven Gerrard being interested is amazing. It would be great to play for him,” he told the Daily Mail.

Rangers have a lot of depth at the back. Connor Goldson has been a mainstay of Gerrard’s side since his arrival, while the likes of Nikola Katic, Gareth McAuley and Joe Worrall have been rotated alongside him.

The latter was superb against Celtic before the winter break. But there is arguably room for improvement in that area of the field, and the opportunity is perhaps there for another player to come in and take a shirt if they impress.

It remains to be seen if Tilt ends up moving to Rangers this month. But surely Gerrard will take encouragement from the fact that he appears to be keen to work under the Englishman in the future.
