Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic and Lazio are reportedly interested in signing Timothy Castagne from Atalanta in the January transfer window.

The Daily Record reported last month of Celtic’s interest in Timothy Castagne, and the 23-year-old right-back himself spoke of his desire to leave Atalanta in the January transfer window order to play regular first-team football, as quoted in the same publication.

The Scottish Sun reported earlier this week that Atalanta want as much as £10 million in transfer fees in order to sell the Belgium international.

It is quite a lot of money for Celtic, and the Hoopsreported chase of the young defender has now been further complicated by speculation that Lazio are looking at the right-back.

According to Corriere dello Sport – Stadio, Italian club Lazio are looking at the prospect of signing Castagne this month.

The Italian club will probably be able to pay the £10m transfer fee that Atalanta reportedly want for Castagne, and the right-back himself may see moving to Lazio a better option that move to Scotland to play Celtic.

Castagne has made seven starts and three substitute appearances in Serie A for Atalanta so far this season, according to WhoScored.
