David Wagner’s Premier League strugglers Huddersfield Town clearly need new attackers and are allegedly looking at Ligue 1.

We might be only one game into 2019 but Huddersfield Town already appear to be up against it in their attempt to stay in the Premier League for a third season.

David Wagner’s side are bottom of the table after a damaging 2-1 home defeat to fellow strugglers Burnley and are now eight points adrift of safety.

And it is no secret where Huddersfield’s problems lie. The toothless Tigers are comfortably the Premier League’s lowest scorers with just 13 goals from 21 matches.

No wonder they are hoping to bring in new attacking additions this month, with L’Equipe claiming that Toulouse forward Firmin Mubele is on their radar.

A 24-year-old DR Congo international, who is equally comfortable on the wing as he is through the middle, has struggled for game time this season under Alain Casanova. Since arriving from Rennes, Mubele has started just three Ligue 1 games.

L’Equipe claims that Huddersfield are rivalling three clubs for his signature: Bursaspor, Fortuna Dusseldorf and Standard Liege.

But it is understood that Toulouse have little interest in letting Mubele go, even if he has failed to make an impact with Les Violets thus far.
