The Chelsea defender has been named Sheffield Wednesday’s player of the month on two of the past three occasions.

Several Sheffield Wednesday fans are urging their side to sign Michael Hector to a permanent contract after the on-loan Chelsea defender was named the Owls’ player of the month for the second time this season.
Hector has played a key part of Wednesday’s revival under Lee Bullen, forming a partnership with Tom Lees which has been breached just twice in four matches.
The 26-year-old has 18 months left on his contract at Chelsea, who have yet to use him in a competitive fixture since his 2015 arrival from Reading.
And he has already insinuated he would be interested in a full-time switch to Sheffield Wednesday after his current spell ends.
This is what those of an Owls persuasion are saying after Hector’s latest accolade…
Chelsea are reported to have paid around £5 million for Hector when Jose Mourinho was manager.
The Jamaica international has since had loan spells at Reading, Eintracht Frankfurt, Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday, who appointed Steve Bruce as manager earlier this week.
