Trent Alexander-Arnold played well for Liverpool against Manchester City on Thursday.

Gary Lineker has spoken highly of Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold on Twitter during the match against Manchester City.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Everton striker was impressed with the performance of Alexander-Arnold during Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat to City away from home at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Thursday evening.

The 20-year-old right-back had a superb game on a personal level for the Reds and played a key role in the goal that Roberto Firmino scored on 64 minutes.

Former England international striker Lineker was impressed with the display produced by the England international, and believes that the youngster must play in midfield in the future.

Promising talent

Alexander-Arnold is one of the best and most promising young players in Europe, and the England international has made the right-back position at Liverpool his own.

Although the Reds lost to City on Thursday evening, the 20-year-old’s performance was admirable, and one can only expect the right-back to improve in the coming years, and perhaps he could even end up playing in midfield.
