Crystal Palace will not be signing Liverpool striker Solanke, but Premier League duo Fulham and Brighton and Hove Albion are reportedly keen.
So Dominic Solanke will not be a Crystal Palace player after all.
Palace had emerged as the clear front-runners to sign the out-of-favour Liverpool forward on loan but, according to the Liverpool Echo, his move to Selhurst Park has now fallen through.
It is understood that Solanke has been struggling with a muscle problem of late and the Eagles were concerned that he was not fit enough to make an immediate contribution to their Premier League survival bid.
But, while Palace were not willing to take a risk on the former Chelsea youngster (who hasn’t made a single first-team appearance all season) it seems there are plenty of other clubs keen to offer him an opportunity.
The Liverpool Echo reports that two of Palace’s rivals have now registered an interest in the prolific England U21 international.
London neighbours Fulham seemingly see Solanke as the man capable of taking the pressure off Aleksandar Mitrovic, while arch enemies Brighton and Hove Albion would allegedly jump at the chance to take the youngster to the South Coast.
Fortunately for Crystal Palace, Jordan Ayew finally opened his account for the club in a much-needed 2-0 win away at Wolves on Wednesday.
