According to The Northern Echo, Everton, Tottenham Hotspur, Southampton, Manchester City, Middlesbrough and Millwall all are interested in signing Maja from the Black Cats in the January transfer window.
The 20-year-old forward is out of contract at League One club Sunderland at the end of the season.
The Chronicle recently quoted Sunderland manager Jack Ross as saying that Maja has been given a deadline of the end of this week to sign a new contract, with the youngster having been made a final offer by the Black Cats.
Maja has made 20 starts and two substitute appearances in League One for Sunderland so far this season, scoring 13 goals in the process, according to WhoScored.
The Black Cats are third in the League One table at the moment with 47 points from 23 matches, seven points behind leaders Portsmouth, who have played 25 games.
Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to have their say on the current situation of Maja and his future.

If Josh Maja is away from #safc I wonder if we're keeping tabs on Shankland and Stockley as a replacement?— SRB (@Fantanafest73) December 31, 2018
Maja waiting to see if any clubs come for him before making a decision. If he leaves I hope a PL clubs comes and buys him and he will be a bench warmer and career fade or he can grow with #SAFC and play games. Let's hope his head isn't turned or greed taken over— Simon (@KingstonSi) December 31, 2018

If Maja has made it clear that he wants to go in January, then Ross should not include him in the matchday squad, starting tomorrow. If you include a player that doesn’t want to be here, it can have a negative effect on the rest of the squad? #SAFC— Daniel Jenks (@DanielJenks89) December 31, 2018
We need Maja a lot as so far hes the only one of our strikers scoring on a regular basis, Josh, don't listen to your advisors or agents, they're just looking to line their pockets, you stay with Sunderland and they'll do right by you #SAFC— Michael Bird (@_Michael_Bird_) December 31, 2018
Josh Maja doesn’t wanna be a Sunderland player anymore if he wanted to he would have penned a deal by now no ultimatum needed end of. #safc— Dani (@_daniwalkerx) December 31, 2018
