HITC Sport understands a number of clubs are chasing Bradford City loan star Jack Payne.
Huddersfield Town midfielder Jack Payne is a target for a number of clubs in the January transfer window following his impressive form on loan at Bradford City, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Payne is currently on a season-long loan at Bradford after joining the club from Premier League side Huddersfield in the summer.
The skilful midfielder has been one of Bradford’s shining lights in a disappointing campaign for the Bantams, with eight goals and five assists so far this season.
Payne’s performances for Bradford have not gone unnoticed among a number of clubs, with the likes of Peterborough and Luton both expressing an interest in signing the 24-year-old in next month’s transfer window.
Former Tottenham youngster Payne is well down the pecking order at Huddersfield and they could consider recalling him from his loan spell at Bradford to sell him in January.
Payne, who joined Huddersfield in the summer of 2016 on a free transfer from Southend, helped the club win promotion to the Premier League in his first season, but he has not really figured since the Terriers have been in the top flight.
The diminutive attacker has spent the last 18 months out on loan at Oxford, Blackburn and Bradford with his first-team chances limited at Huddersfield.
Bradford would be loathe to lose key man Payne midway through his loan deal, but several clubs are preparing offers for the player in the transfer window.
