The Celtic midfielder hasn't been himself since the speculation over his future last summer.

Chris Sutton has written in The Record that Olivier Ntcham must rediscover the sort of form which saw him being linked with a big-money move away from Celtic.

The 22-year-old midfielder was one of several sub-par performers on Saturday as Celtic lost 1-0 away to Scottish Premiership rivals Rangers.

Ntcham, who joined the Hoops from Manchester City in 2017, has been rather average for the most part since returning from a four-week absence last month.

On his day, the Frenchman is one of Brendan Rodgers's best players, but it hasn't been his day for a while and Sutton believes that the youngster - the subject of a £15 million summer bid from Porto, according to Goal.com - must get his act together.

"It’s not so long ago Olivier Ntcham was being linked with a £15million move to Porto," he wrote in The Record.

"But he hasn’t turned up in a Celtic shirt since his winning goal in the last game against Rangers."

It might be easy for Ntcham to be questioning his importance to the Celtic team.

After all, Ryan Christie replaced him during the month that he was injured and you could argue that the Bhoys were actually better with Christie.

That being said, Rodgers is a terrific man-manager, as he's proven down the years, so if anyone can get a tune out of his player once more then it's the Northern Irish boss.

Olivier Ntcham of Celtic scores during the Scottish Premier League between Celtic and Rangers at Celtic Park Stadium on September 2, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.
