Fans of Bloodborne and Dark Souls will be excited to know that developers From Software have two unannounced projects in the works along with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Speaking to 4Gamer in an interview translated by Gematsu, studio president Hidetaka Miyazki said that it was too early to discuss the projects in detail, but also teased that one of them could be a sequel to the much acclaimed Bloodborne:
“While it isn’t time to discuss details, they’re both [From Software]-esque games. We’ll need a little more time, but we’ll be able to tell everyone more about them once they take shape.”
Both titles sound as if they’re in early development, but them being described as ‘From Software-esque games’ is exciting news. Even though Miyazaki had suggested in the past that he was tired of the Dark Souls formula, his comments hint at the long expected reveal of Bloodborne 2, along with a mystery project that shares the same passion for killing players over and over.
From Software’s next upcoming release is Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice for March 22, 2019. It has a lot of similarities with competitor Nioh as they both have Japanese backdrops, fast combat, and a difficulty level too painful for casual gamers, so fans of Bloodborne and Dark Souls will have that to satisfy their twisted lust for pain until From Software comments more on their future projects.
