Tyler Roberts has not played a match for Leeds United since the start of November, with Marcelo Bielsa favouring other options.

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has told Leeds Live that Tyler Roberts could be back in contention for his side’s next match.

Roberts has not played for Leeds since November, with injury curtailing his progress.

But the striker is edging his way back to full fitness now, and Bielsa has hinted that the youngster could come back into his plans.

He said: ”Roberts will be back before Bamford.

“Roberts might be with us in the next game and I think Bamford at the beginning of January.”

Roberts surely won’t start for Leeds, given their exceptional run of form, but his return to the squad is good news for Bielsa.

The Whites nearly have all their attacking options back in contention now for the first time this season.

But Bielsa is unlikely to want to make wholesale changes to Leeds’ team, as they have put together a winning run.

Leeds have scored two last minute winners in their last two matches to extend their victorious run to seven games.

Bielsa’s side are now in the clear at the top of the Championship table, and there is growing optimism at Elland Road that this could finally be the year that they return to the Premier League.
