Preston North End take on Daniel Johnson this weekend.
Preston North End midfielder Daniel Johnson has told the club's official Twitter account that he has no regrets about leaving Aston Villa.
The Lilywhites are down to the bare bones after a remarkable spate of injuries in recent times, and many expected Johnston to miss a considerable amount of time with a thight injury.
However, he returned way ahead of schedule earlier this month, and is now in line to feature against former club Aston Villa this weekend.
North End host Villa at Deepdale in a clash that Villa will be looking to win, or at least avoid a dramatic 3-3 draw having been 2-0 up, as was the case in October.
Johnson made a huge impact in that game as a substitute, and should be looking to impress if he starts on Saturday.
Ahead of the game, Johnson has admitted that he loved every minute of his time with Villa, having spent six years with the club before leaving for Preston in 2015.
Johnson did though add that he doesn't regret leaving Villa, adding that he has put it all behind him and wants to continue enjoying his football at Preston.
DJ on Villa: “I loved every minute of my time there, I have no regrets but I have put all of that behind me now. I’m enjoying my football at the moment and I’m enjoying being here, being with the lads and working with the staff here.” #pnefc— Preston North End FC (@pnefc) December 27, 2018
