Lazaar has struggled at Newcastle since joining in 2016.
Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb claim Newcastle United defender Achraf Lazaar is attracting interest from Serie A duo Frosinone and Genoa ahead of the January transfer window.
Both clubs are in the midst of a relegation battle in the top tier of Italian football, with Frosinone sitting in 19th place on just eight points while Genoa are slightly safer three places above Frosinone on 16 points.
The two sides will be looking to bring in new players to help them avoid relegation to Serie B and it appears that ostracised Newcastle man Lazaar is on their winter shopping lists.
Lazaar, 26, was left out of Newcastle’s 25-man Premier League squad after going on loan to Benevento last season, who ultimately suffered relegation. He managed just nine appearances.
Joining Newcastle in the summer of 2016 for a fee of £2.9million (Chronicle), 17-time Morocco international Lazaar instantly struggled and has managed just 10 career appearances to date.
Now, it looks as though Newcastle could offload Lazaar, but it remains to be seen how much they will rake in for his services given his current contract expires the summer of 2021.
